Researching a pathway to success
 
It is the aim of the CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance) Department to provide high quality, whole class teaching through planning and developing teaching strategies that cater for pupils of all abilities in the classroom. This encourages the pupils to make informed decisions through the use of impartial, current advice and information. The department is committed to providing additional support within the classroom by responding effectively to each pupil as an individual.

Curricular Programme

 Year 14  
 
               The year group is sub-divided into four for a double period once a week, 
lasting 1 hour & 10 minutes.

• Career Management
• Financial Management
• LMI
• Interview Skills
• Attendance at open days for universities & higher education institutions

 Year 13  
 
The entire year group come together for a double period once a week, 
lasting 1 hour & 10 minutes.

Key Topics Covered:
• Work Experience
• Personal Career Planning
• LMI
• Summer programmes
• Widening participation schemes
• Talks from guest speakers
• Interview Skills


 Year 12  
 
               A single 35 minute class once a week in tutor groups.
One-to-one Careers Interviews with the Careers Service NI. 
An Options Day held in February.

• Personal Career Planning
• Writing Personal Statements
• LMI; including STEM
• Post-16 decision making
• Preparation for Work Experience

 Year 11  
 
               A single 35 minute class once a week in tutor groups.
Young Enterprise Learn to Earn programme.

• Presentation skills
• Stereotyping
• LMI; including STEM

 Year 10  
 
               A 10 week carousel programme of double periods, lasting 1 hour & 10 
minutes.
An Options Day held in February.

• Decision making for Key Stage 4 and beyond

 Year 9  
 
               A 10 week carousel programme of double periods, lasting 1 hour & 10
